SOLO is our post base and wall mount bracket. It allows you to mount your structure to surface or mount to a wall. The flange has 4 oversized holes that allow you to secure to your deck, concrete, brick or any other surface you choose.

• *Key Note* 4x4 is a size reference.  The most common wood is actually 3.5" x 3.5" with rounded edges. Some types have sharp edges or are a true 4"x4" and will not fit.  Also note that fresh pressure treated wood or wet wood will be swollen, we advise installing with dry wood
• *TIP* - we often take a solo bracket with us when purchasing lumber, slide it on the ends of the wood to ensure proper fit

What type of wood should I use?

• Any standard, dry and straight 4x4 or 6x6 (depending on your bracket size) wood will work.  Our products are made to assemble with standard 8ft, 10ft and 12ft lengths.
• Note: 4x4 wood is in fact 3.5” x 3.5” - the industry simply calls it 4x4. 6x6 wood is in fact 5.5"x5.5" - the industry simply calls it 6x6.
• We do recommend dry, straight cedar, but by design our products allow you the freedom to choose your preferred wood for your build. Just make sure your wood is both dry and straight prior to build. We also, recommend taking one of your Toja Grid brackets with you when you purchase your wood to test fit.

What are the outside dimensions?

• For Pergolas: add 10”, this 10" includes the cavity in the brackets as well as the 1" flange on the SOLO (where the securing screws go)
• For Hammocks: The outside dimensions are 104"x104", height is at your discretion; however we do suggest you build a cube.
• If you're building a double or larger structure, please add 3.75" for each additional QUAD or QUINT added.  ***NOTE - this addition is for the footprint, not the wood used***

How long are the straps for the SHADE SAIL?

• The shade straps can extend the shade up to 8" more than its intended size.
• 8ft to 8ft 8" / 10ft to 10ft 8" / 12ft to 12ft 8"

What is the SHADE SAIL made of?

• Our shades are made of HDPE, the same resilient material used to produce heavy-duty storage totes. Toja Grid shades are made with monofilament and tape construction, as well as knitted and pre-stretched to provide a strong long-lasting shade.
• Buckles are added every 3 to 4 feet, and each buckle has a 100 lb. tension capacity to pull the shade tight and hold up to the elements.
• Please take shades down in high winds and in winter.

Is the SHADE SAIL waterproof?

• No, they are not. They will stop a misting, but rain will pass through.
• The shades block 85%+ of UVA / UVB rays.
• Toja Grid shades also reduce wind, only letting 15% of air pass through.

What hardware do I need to buy?

• All the hardware you need is included in each box to connect our brackets to your 4x4 or 6x6 wood posts.
• The only hardware you need is the securing hardware. We always recommend asking your local hardware store for the best securing hardware for your specific surface.

Do you do custom sizes for your SHADE SAIL?

• For custom sizes, we've added an item based on the square feet needed, if you require more details, please contact custom@tojagrid.com. We also, offer a custom colour option for the custom size SHADE SAIL at a surcharge
• Note: Custom sizes take 3 to 4 weeks before shipping.
• Note: We can make shades to any size, however, our warranty only applies to shades up to 12ft in length.

Where can I mount my Toja Grid?

• We always advise our customers to check your local building codes prior to mounting your Toja Grid pergolas and Hammocks.

Do you ship internationally?

• Yes we do ship outside of Canada and the USA. We will provide shipping/freight costs at our discounted rate based on destination. Customers are responsible for any duties and taxes that may be incurred.

What is the load capacity of your brackets?

• The load capacity of the TRIO, QUINT and QUAD brackets is 750lbs per cavity.

Why do you not need a screw for each hole on the brackets?

• All of our brackets require only 2 screws per every set of eight holes. We leave the other holes open for future accessories.

Can you hang swings or other accessories from the wood beams?

• We do not support the hanging of other products from your wood beams, because at this time our brackets have only been tested to support the load of the wood.

What is the longest span and height you can go with either bracket size (4x4 or 6x6)?

• The recommended wood span for the 4x4 and 6x6 wood posts is 12 feet in length and 8 feet in height.

Can the brackets be used in areas with harsh weather?

• Our brackets have an outdoor powder coating on them, that lasts up to 10 years, this allows them to be used in all weather and can be left up during the winter months.

KNECT is our multi-purpose bracket. It allows you to build a semi-private post wall or fence-like accent on your pergola structure.  

The Toja Grid KNECT brackets are not a safety railing bracket. Review your local railing/building codes for regulations regarding railing requirements.
