Corten Steel Any Size Pergola Kit for 6x6 Wood Posts

Our DIY Pergola Kit is reimagined with Corten Steel, allowing it to reveal its unique beauty to you over time. The rusted appearance is its protective coating; it will constantly change in colour when exposed to the elements.

PLEASE READ
Due to the natural and intended rusting process of the Corten Steel, when wet, the brackets will drip and cause rust colour staining to the wood and surrounding area.

Corten steel, over time, will patina. The rusted appearance of Corten serves as a protective coating and changes in colour over time due to exposure to the elements, revealing its unique beauty. Results will vary by location, time, and other environmental factors.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR COASTAL AREAS
Saltwater prevents the protective layer from forming; we do not recommend using Corten in Coastal areas.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE PRESSURE TREATED LUMBER WITH CORTEN STEEL
Pressure-treated lumber (PT) uses chemicals to protect the wood and these chemicals can affect the steel.

DO NOT SAND CORTEN
Do not sand or otherwise affect the protective layer’s natural progression and its process to patina.

Toja Tip: Ensure lumber is fully inserted into the bracket cavity, resting on metal tabs for proper installation.

  • Wood
Shipping wood is costly. Most of the population has access to stores that sell wood locally where they live. Buying your lumber allows you the freedom to select the type of wood you want to use for your build and budget. There are also regional limitations for what kind of lumber is ideal for your build; different species of lumber would be used in tropical climate vs. a cold one.
  • Anchoring Hardware
Due to different building materials and requirements based on location, we advise on checking building codes and talking to your local hardware store for the best securing hardware for your specific surface.
  • Canadian Made Brackets
  • 12-gauge Canadian Steel
  • Made with Corten Steel which ages over time and allows rust to form creating a protective coating to the metal.
  • All hardware, to secure to lumber, is included
  • Packaged with #12x1-1/2” Pan Rob/Phil combo drive 304 S.S Wood screws
  • 5-year limited warranty
